Café-Croissant will be on Saturday 6 September. We will be meeting at 9:30am at Raddles Street Cafe in Napier. This is a classy villa setting and there are plenty of places to park nearby and it is handy to the bus exchange.
It's a great opportunity for breakfast and chat in French, Frenglish or French. There will be a French speaking part of the table avec un petit drapeau français! September's film
This month's film is about Paris and is 20 short clips about each part. We start each Ciné-Club in the cinema entry foyer from 6:00pm. Focal Point will be selling $10 glasses of wine and providing complimentary bread and cheese. The film starts at 6:30pm and supper is available afterwards at Pipi's café (please note on your registration if interested) Tuesday 9 September, Focal Point Cinema, Havelock North. Cost: $10 for members, $15 for non-members Paris, je t'aime - I love you, Paris(2006) M - 110 minutes Comedy French with English subtitles Paris, je t'aime is about the plurality of cinema in one mythic location: Paris, the City of Love. 20 filmmakers have five minutes each; the audience must weave a single narrative out of twenty moments. The 20 moments are fused by transitional interstitial sequences and also via the introduction and epilogue. (Each film is in a different film genre and arrondissement of Paris with the common themes of Paris and... love throughout the film) Au fil des quartiers, des histoires d'amour passager, voilé, mimé, vampirisé, malmené ou révélé... Join us... in Spring for our walk around Dolbel Reserve.
This walk is on the flat and also does go up a hill. There is an amazing view of Hawke's Bay at the top. We will also be going to the Duke of Gloucester in Taradale afterwards for a "debrief"... et voilà ! Frenglish and English speakers welcome too. Register above with James: |

After a well-supported event last year, our regular French conversation evenings are combining this coming month in between the two venues: Napier and Havelock North: in Clive on the third Tuesday of the month (in between the two usual evenings.)
