Tuesday 24th March 6:00pm
Are you interested in joining our committee and become more involved with our Association? It is fun, rewarding and you can control how much energy and time you input. We have some available places – please make contact with our President or any of the current committee if you are interested! This is an important AGM as we deal with the introduction of a Constitution to replace our rules as required by the new legislation. Our AGM will be 24th March at Hastings Library 6pm, with an option to also join via Zoom. We encourage all members to attend and find out about how AFHB runs along with the new constitution. We MUST have a quorum to have the Constitution accepted so please do endeavour to attend either in person or via Zoom. As stipulated by our rules, the notice of meeting was sent out to 2025 members by the 26th February, committee nomination forms are due 11 March. Have you renewed your 2026 membership? We are pleased to announce that the French Film Festival Aotearoa's Opening Night at Focal Point Cinema will take place on Wednesday 27 May from 6:00pm, with the film starting at 7:00pm, screening Colour of Time / La Venue de l'Avenir (2025).
The price will be $38 for members and includes at least one glass of wine, cheeses and finger food. "A crowd pleasing comedy of France past and present." - Screen Daily Synopsis: In 2025, nearly 30 individuals learn unexpectedly that they are linked by one shared ancestor, Adèle Meunier (Suzanne Lindon). The legacy awaiting them is unusual: a countryside home in Normandy, abandoned for decades and suspended in time. Four of them, Seb (Abraham Wapler), Abdel (Zinedine Soualem, Divertimento), Céline (Julia Piaton, Like a Prince) and Guy (Vincent Macaigne, Three Friends), are sent to survey the estate. They enter the property expecting organisation, documentation and clear boundaries. The house replies with echoes. |
