Café-Croissant
Café-Croissant will be on Saturday 5 April. We will be meeting at 9:30am at Peak House near Havelock North. There is good parking just before you reach Peak House by the grassed area.
It's a great opportunity for breakfast and chat in French, Frenglish or French. There will be a French speaking part of the table avec un petit drapeau français! This is an important AGM as we deal with the introduction of a Constitution to replace our rules as required by the new legislation. Our AGM will be 25th March at Hastings Library 6pm, with an option to also join via Zoom. We encourage all members to attend and find out about how AFHB runs along with the new constitution. As stipulated by our rules, the notice of meeting will be sent out to 2025 members by the 26th February, committee nomination forms are due 11 March. Have you renewed your 2025 membership? April's film
We are screening a biopic on the former French First Lady, Bernadette Chirac. We start each Ciné-Club in the cinema entry foyer from 6:00pm. Focal Point will be selling $10 glasses of wine and complimentary bread and cheese. The film starts at 6:30pm and supper is available afterwards at Pipi's café (please note on your registration if interested) Tuesday 8 April, Event Cinemas, Havelock North. There are still places in some classes. We offer 5 levels from beginner to advanced. If you are interested, please refer to the information on our website and register your interest there. Lessons are at Hastings Girls' High. School from 6:00-7:30pm on Thursdays during term time. |
With the centenary of the Art Deco movement, Franki James has organised a competition for young people in co-operation with Creative Art Napier (CAN).
This is an open invitation to local youth who wish to create and submit an artwork to exhibit in this collective showcase. So if you know of someone aged between 8 and 17 let them know about it. Entry is now open and is $15 and 14 March is deadline for design plan with final art work due 31 March. The exhibition and prizegiving will be in April.
