Café-Croissant will be on Saturday 3 October. We will be meeting at 9:30am at Hygge of Clifton Bay near Te Awanga. There is plenty of space to park before you arrive at the café.
It's a great opportunity for breakfast and chat in French, Frenglish or French. There will be a French speaking part of the table avec un petit drapeau français! Annemarie Rawson will be running a Leaps of Faith and French Mistakes Workshop as part of the Love Heart workshops this Spring. Wednesday 23rd September iat 10:00am until 12:00pm it will be held at Hygge at Clifton Bay, near Te Awanga. Heaps of parking nearby. Tickets are $55.
Annemarie is a local author and has spoken at our My French Suitcase event before and is an entertaining speaker and story teller. |

October's film
This month's film is a comedy drama based on a true-life story about the discovery of a Nazi confiscated painting! We start each Ciné-Club in the cinema entry foyer from 6:00pm. Focal Point will be selling $10 glasses of wine and providing complimentary bread and cheese. The film starts at 6:30pm and supper is available afterwards at Pipi's café (please note on your registration if interested) Tuesday 13 October, Focal Point Cinema, Havelock North. Our Term Three lessons finished on 24 September and will recommence with Term Four on 15 October . There are still spaces in A2, B2 and C1 (higher levels.)

Our annual combined Soirée de Conversation will take place at 5:30pm on Wednesday 21 October at a midway location. Belinda or Ann will inform you of the secret location and I know one group has been told already! We look forward to seeing you all there for a great French-speaking opportunity.

Choux Pastry Events
Event 1: Choux Pastry Training
1 November: 4:00pm Choux pastry is a versatile ingredient in much French cuisine: both sweet and savoury. Chef Christophe will show you how easy it is to make choux pastry in a training afternoon which includes: cheese, baguette, Beach House Wine and of course... choux pastry. This workshop is limited to 10 people and the expectation is that you will produce a choux pastry item for Event 2! Register via our Bulletin. Please note that this is a Members only event. First in, first served basis. |
Event 2: Pétanque with Choux Competition
15 November: 4:00-6:30pm at Heretaunga Pétanque Club at Cornwall Park in Hastings. Members are welcome to attend an afternoon of pétanque followed by BYO food and drink and of course choux pastry items for the competition! It should be a fun afternoon and beginner pétanque players are welcome. There will also be a mystery judge of the choux pastry items. No cost event for members. Registrations open in next month's Bulletin. |
Marchons, marchons! - Walk & Talk in French

Our « Marchons, marchons ! » is back and we are doing a nice Spring walk around the magnificent Ahuriri Estuary track. It takes about 40 minutes and is a flat and easy walking track. We will park at the carpark opposite the Westshore Inn (Comfort Inn) and meet at 3:00pm on Sunday 18 October and will finish off at Westshore Inn for a post walk drink.
