Café-Croissant will be on Saturday 3 October. We will be meeting at 9:30am at Hygge of Clifton Bay near Te Awanga. There is plenty of space to park before you arrive at the café.

It's a great opportunity for breakfast and chat in French, Frenglish or French.

There will be a French speaking part of the table avec un petit drapeau français!

This month's film is a drama about a rare painting long though stolen that is discovered and what the consequences of its discovery bring.
We start each Ciné-Club in the cinema entry foyer from 6:00pm.
Focal Point will be selling $10 glasses of wine and providing complimentary bread and cheese.

The film starts at 6:30pm and supper is available afterwards at Pipi's café (please note on your registration if interested)

Très sceptique, il se rend sur place et doit se rendre à l’évidence : le tableau est authentique, un chef-d'œuvre disparu depuis 1939, spolié par les nazis. Our annual combined Soirée de Conversation will take place at 5:30pm  on Wednesday 21 October at a neutral location. Belinda or Ann will inform you of the secret location and I know one group has been told already! We look forward to seeing you all there for a great French-speaking opportunity.

Focal Point Cinema in Havelock North  have informed us that they will be screening the sequel to De Gaulle: Titling Iron that was in the recent French Film Festival Aotearoa.

De Gaulle: Liberté 
June, 1940. France collapses and signs the armistice. In the midst of the chaos, one man refuses to give up. Alone against the odds, this unknown general flees to London to save what remains of freedom.

Without an army, without backing, without hope. But with one irrational conviction – France, his France, has not laid down arms. Taking the ultimate gamble, he seeks to convince the world that the battle for France is neither over, nor lost.

Reality, however, is unyielding and seems determined to prove him wrong. Yet, little by little, resistance fighters, rebellious students and determined soldiers rise up in England, France and Africa to join the cause. Their faith, audacity and thirst for freedom defy what history seemed to have written in advance..
