March's film
In this month's film, Omar Sy (The Intouchables) plays a crooked "doctor" who cons people into believing they're ill in this French comedy. We start each Ciné-Club in the cinema entry foyer from 6:00pm. Focal Point will be selling $10 glasses of wine and providing complimentary bread and cheese. The film starts at 6:30pm and supper is available afterwards at Pipi's café (please note on your registration if interested) Tuesday 10 March, Focal Point Cinema, Havelock North. Cost: $10 for members, $15 for non-members Dr Knock (2017)
PG - 113 minutes Comedy French with English subtitles Knock is a retired crook who learnt the skills of the medical profession in rather particular circumstances ‘on the job’ on board a ship. After some years ‘in training’, he takes up a post as a doctor in the small village of Saint-Maurice in the French Alps. Knock is determined to boost his earnings and introduces free consultations which soon bring even the lowliest inhabitants to his door. (Allo-Cine) |
Annual General Meeting 2025
|
Tuesday 25th March 6:00pm
Are you interested in joining our committee and become more involved with our Association? It is fun, rewarding and you can control how much energy and time you input. We have some available places – please make contact with our President or any of the current committee if you are interested! This is an important AGM as we deal with the introduction of a Constitution to replace our rules as required by the new legislation. Our AGM will be 24th March at Hastings Library 6pm, with an option to also join via Zoom. We encourage all members to attend and find out about how AFHB runs along with the new constitution. We MUST have a quorum to have the Constitution accepted so please do endeavour to attend either in person or via Zoom. As stipulated by our rules, the notice of meeting was sent out to 2025 members by the 26th February, committee nomination forms are due 11 March. Have you renewed your 2026 membership? Click here to renew. |
