April's Café-Croissant will be held at No.5 Cafe & Larder, 248 State Highway 51
Mangateretere, near Hastings. This is a great location for a French breakfast with « croissants ». There is plenty of parking nearby and a nice location to start April. You can even charge your Tesla or play a quick 9 holes before or afterwards. So why not mark the date in your diary? Saturday 6th April at 9:30am RSVP to Barbara with the number of croissants by Thursday 4th April. It's a great opportunity for a French breakfast and chat. There will be a French flag at the French-speaking part of the table. |

April's film
Our 3rd film for 2024 follows a middle-aged man who commences working with a Tech company but struggles with the young and fast moving culture! This month's screening is made possible by Institut Français. We start each Cine-Club in the cinema entry foyer from 6:00pm. We will be serving $5 glasses of Beach House wine and complimentary bread and cheese. The film starts at 6:30pm and supper is available afterwards at Pipi's café (please note on your registration if interested) Tuesday 9th April, Event Cinemas, Havelock North. Join us at Onehunga Road in Bay View for a Sunday afternoon walk, meeting at 2:00pm. It is the Whakamaharatanga Walkway.
We will go for a drink afterwards. "The walkway crosses farmland through two old pā sites with terraces, pits and middens (shell dumps). Most of the farmland was under water prior to the Napier earthquake in 1931." - DOC website Une promenade historique! Venue: Onehunga Road, Bayview Date: 2:00pm on Sunday 15 October RSVP and on the day we meet at the walk’s car park just.off Onehunga Rd as you vine to Bayview from Napier. It’s the first left turn and then just past the one lane bridge. The walk is about 1 hour and then we plan to go to the Westshore Inn. |
